SAFER workshop in Gandaki Province for local level leaders

Alcohol use is increasing at an alarming rate in #Nepal 🇳🇵 Local governments and communities can play an important role to reverse this trend.
As part of the global #SAFER Initiative in Nepal, National Health Education Information and Communication Centre under the Ministry of Health and Population-Nepal and  World Health Organisation (WHO) Nepal organised a workshop in #Gandaki Province for local level leaders.

Altogether 57 elected representatives including mayors and deputy mayors, along with other officials from 10 local levels, participated in the workshop, where they discussed actionable solutions and expressed their collective commitment to:
1️⃣ Reducing alcohol availability in communities
2️⃣ Limiting sale hours
3️⃣ Enforcing stricter drink-driving measures
4️⃣ Implementing health screenings and interventions
